Day 48

Day 48

3 FEB 2012

Today I went to Lowes and got knee pads, the rest of the knobs for the cabinets and light bulbs for my new kitchen light. I got the linoleum up from upstairs in the “man cave” that hubby pulled up yesterday and swept it again. Then I put the light bulbs in my new fabulous light (that was only a little over $40.00 by the way). Then I sat on my hinny and waited on hubby to get there.

Once hubby got there, we started laying tile in the “man cave”. He mixed the mortar and started laying the tile. I handed him the tile and spacers and cut the tile along the wall. So once again, I made MANY trips up and down the stairs. I am just thankful that I didn’t have Julian Michaels behind me today. I swear I heard her voice when I carried those 20 boxes of tile up the stairs yesterday. Lol Today my legs are like jello but my back is not hurting at all. That tells me I lifted properly. (Next time you are at Lowes or Home Depot, pick up a box of 16x16 tiles and see how heavy! SWEW! All in all we laid 103 tiles today. We got over half way and the sun called it a day. I could no longer see to cut the tile and it also started raining. Hubby did such a great job! I am such a lucky woman to have such a fabulous man! My mother in law brought us dinner even though she had a headache! She has really, REALLY been a blessing in all of this. I don’t think we could have held it together like we have if not for her

On the way home tonight, I seen a HUGE black dog in the middle of the road L I usually do not stop (cause we all know what happens when I do)! Lol But the car in the lane next to me almost ran him over and all he did was stop. He didn’t jump out of the way or anything! I knew something was wrong with him. So hoping and praying he wasn’t rabbid and about to knaw my thigh off, I turned around. I had some chicken in the back left over that mother n law brought to us so I got a piece of that and a biscuit and crossed the road to see if doggie was ok (and hope he would eat the chicken and not me)! I was crossing the road and here comes hubby! He pulls over and says “what are you doing!!" Lol  He got out of the truck and came over to see what was going on. (Actually to make sure I left the area WITHOUT doggie in the car with me). J I gave doggie the biscuit and chicken but he wasn’t interested so I just tossed it to him from a distance. When I went back across the street and got into my car, I seen hubby walking back towards doggie. (Very unusual for hubby to go BACK and check on a doggie). So I get out and walk back across the street. Doggie had collapsed and was laying there with his nose against the chicken. OMGoodness!! I just started crying! I wanted so badly to take doggie home and give him a warm bath and feed him and love him and hug him!!!!! I called 911 and an officer came out and sat with doggie until animal control got there. (Animal control will pick animals up after hours if called by police).

On my way home, I started praying that God would watch over that dog, heal him and make sure he went to a good home that had people that would watch over him. The dog seemed to be VERY old. I believe he may have ran away from home so that he could go in peace. (Dog’s usually go off to themselves to die). He did have a collar on so maybe if this is his last day here on Earth, they will call his master and that way his BFF will be by his side when he starts his journey to heaven. I hope doggie is ok!

Anyways….. here are some photos of the tile. It doesn’t look much different from the linoleum that was there before, except it is a shade darker. And the linoleum that was down looked like it belong in a garage!!
